I love reading and what's better around this time of the year than curling up on the sofa by the fireplace or in your bed with a fluffy blanket and a good book? If you share my love for books then keep on reading for my festive recommendations.

Dashing Through The Snow by Debbie Macomber

This is a fairly short story, but sweet none the less. Ashley and Dash (ha, I see what you did there Debbie) have no other choice, but to share a car if they want to get to their destination by Christmas. They seem like completely different characters, but as they go along the journey they realise they have some things in common and they start to develop a bond…There’s also an added little twist with the FBI and some misunderstandings.

Christmas on Primrose Hill by Karen Swan

The main character, Nettie gathers a rather huge following in the media as Blue Bunny by accident, also attracting the attention of the famous and eligible man, Jamie Walker. She tries to deny the chemistry between them while going on crazy advetures as the Blue Bunny. (Blue Bunny is connected to the charity her company is employed to look after) Christmas is also around the corner, which for Nettie is only a reminder of her mother leaving their family a couple of years ago at this time of the year. How will she cope with the pressure from work, the promise of new love and the void her mother left? Read the book and you’ll see. There are some clihés in there, but it’s still a sweet and easy read. Just what I crave around this time of the year.

A Christmas Cracker by Trisha Ashley

Tabby was framed for a crime she didn’t commit, and as a result she finds herself without a job, freshly dumped and  even her beloved cat was given away to a shelter. Luckily she’s rescued by the lovely Mercy and she gets a second chance and a fresh start. Mercy hopes to rescue her family business, the cracker factory with the help of Tabby, who has great artistic skills. There’s only one problem. The attractive but really stubborn Randal, Mercy’s nephew, who doesn’t trust Tabby at all. Can she win him over and prove him wrong?

What I truly loved about this book is, that every chapter starts with a joke, just like the ones you would find in a Christmas cracker. So clever!

Christmas at the Little Wedding Shop by Jane Linfoot

What can be more romantic than a four day long wedding with a Christmas wonderland setting? But such a magical event needs loads of careful planning and Sera finds herself  in the  middle of it all to help out her sister, Alice. She has two best men on her side to help her out, one of them is a ghost from the past and the other one might be just the perfect match. Or is he? While trying to deal with them she also needs to make sure that everything goes according to plan or the wedding  might turn into a catastrophy. An absent groom, broken personalized glasses and other missing elements are a sure recipe for a disaster, but Sera is determined to make Alice’s wedding a magical one.

Reading the comments I realised that this might be part of some series, but I didn’t know that and the book was still really enjoyable.

Calling Mrs Christmas by Carol Matthews

This is one of my favourites! I love Carol Matthews books in general,so I knew this will be a good one from the moment I picked it up.

Cassie’s been unemployed for a while, but she decided to make some money from her love of Christmas. She started small, but soon business takes off, and she’s hired to help millionar Carter to organise the best Christmas surprise ever for his kids. Carter is so happy with all she’s done that he even invites her to join them for their trip to Lapland, but how will that affect her relationship with her lovely and supporting boyfriend, Jim? Read the book to find out… Be warned though, you’ll want to go to Lapland yourself after reading this!

The Chocolate Lovers’ Christmas by Carol Matthews

Another sweet book by Carol. This one is part of her ‘Chocolate Lovers’ series and I would highly recommend to read the other books in the series, too. I think you might be able to follow even if you didn’t read the previous ones, but there might be some references that you won’t get unless you do.

There are four main characters, but my favourite one has always been Lucy, since she’s a bit clumsy just like myself and loves chocolate with a passion. She’s also quite naive. Then we have the femme fatale Chantal, who has changed since her baby Lana was born. Nadia, who’s trying to cope with life after losing her husband and Autumn, who is slightly lost after losing her brother a while ago. I have to admit, sometimes I really want to slap the girls, especially Lucy to see some sense…But I still enjoyed this book as I’ve been on so many adventures with these girls before. If you liked the previous books I’m sure you’ll like this as well!

Now there are three books left that I haven’t read yet,but I’m planning to and they are waiting on my bedside table. I’ll leave a link down below, so you can check them out.

What do you like to read around this time of the year? Any recommendations to a fellow bookworm?

Have a lovely day!
