I was celebrating my birthday two weeks ago, and I really liked my makeup, so I decided to share it with you. I wanted something bronze and smoldering on the eyes and also a bold color on the lips to compliment the bronze tones on the lid, of course pairing it all with glowy skin.

As per usual I’ve started with my eyes. I knew I wanted a fairly bold look. I’ve primed my lids with the Urban Decay primer potion in Eden. For the majority of my eye look, I used my Wet n Wild palette in Rosé in the air. First I’ve set the primer with the cream color in there, this will make blending later easier. Then I went in the crease with the warm orangey brown color and after that switching to a smaller fluffy brush, I’ve deepened my crease and outer corner with the darker brown under it. As a next step, I added some sparkle. When can you use glitter, if not on your birthday? I’ve used the Stila Glitter & Glow liquid eyeshadow in the shade kitten karma. I felt the application would be a bit too flimsy with the wand it comes with, so instead, I’ve used a small synthetic brush to pat this on the inner corners of my eye bringing it out all the way to the middle. To blend it together with the rest of my eye I’ve patted some of the shimmery shade from the Wet n Wild palette on the spot, where Kitten karma met the deeper shades what I’ve blended in the outer corner before. I also added a bit more of the dark brown to the outer corner as I felt it’s lost some of its intensity.

I couldn’t be bothered to add any winged liner, but to amp up the smokiness, I’ve applied the Makeup Forever black Agua liner in my top and bottom waterline. I also used the same brown eyeshadows mixed together on my lower lashline. To finish the eye look I’ve used a generous coating of my favorite mascara, the Too Faced better than sex.

The rest of the look was fairly quick and easy as well. As per usual I prepped my skin with my Cover Fx blurring primer in conjunction with the Mac strobe cream. For foundation, I choose the Maybelline Dream Mousse foundation (just because I am trying to use it up)  and paired it with my Becca aqua luminous perfecting concealer. To set it all I dusted on some Ben Nye neutral set face powder. The last two steps were bronzer and highlighter. I decided to skip the blush for this look. I’ve used Bare Minerals Invisible bronze powder bronzer in the shade tan and the iconic Mary-Lou Manizer by the Balm.

I’ve filled in my brows with Illamasqua’s Thunder eye brow cake and set them in place with the Wet n Wild mega clear mascara.

All we have left now is lips. As a first step I’ve applied my Sigma lip base in the shade Mirth, but I felt it was a bit too pink, so to make it a bit more peach I’ve layered the Buxom full-on lip polish in the shade Debbie on top.

What do you think? Do you like to make an extra effort on your birthday?

Have a lovely day!
