This was me a bit over 2 weeks ago in a fairly clear moment…
We found out about 3 weeks ago on our 12 week scan that I had a missed miscarriage. Obviously, we always knew it’s a possibility but you are always hoping you won’t be part of the statistics… 1 in every 4 pregnancies end up in a miscarriage and 1-5% is a missed miscarriage. Since I had absolutely 0 signs of a miscarriage the news hurt… And on top of dealing with the grief & sadness I had to decide what to do since the ‘actual miscarriage’ still had to happen. I decided to go down a medical route to speed up the process but still keep it as natural as possible. This way you get a few pills and can go through the process at home.
Well… as you can see on the picture my body did not handle it really well and after a trip to A&E I have spent 2 nights in hospital. What happened in the first 12 hours is a bit of a blur, but they looked after me really well and I have nothing bad to say about the NHS.
I had a check up appointment today to have another scan and blood test (since I ended up with anaemia) and was told that unfortunately it looks like I have still some tissue left in there and they recommended surgery. So I am booked in tomorrow to what I am hoping is the last stage of this nightmare. It is a routine surgery and I know I will be looked after. But I am ready to work through this and but this chapter behind us.
I am not sharing this for pity but for awareness. So many women go through this yet it is still such a little talked about topic. I remember after getting the news it was so hard to find anyone talked about it let alone anyone talking about what happens when managing it becomes a nightmare on it’s own. It’s just good to know you are not alone…
Hoping after tomorrow I will need no more rounds and we can move on.

We did it! We climbed the highest mountain of Wales, all 1085m of it 💪🏻
As you can see, we had a spectacular view of all the clouds 🙄😂 Not gonna lie if it wasn’t for @lukeoregan88 I would have turned back many times, but luckily despite the fact that I moaned the whole way up we are still together 😅❤️ Oh well 16km, over 30000 steps and many hours later we can say we did it… Yay ✨
